
Dr.
Sorina Mortada is an energy expert with over 15 years of experience in
renewable energy, energy efficiency, and policy development. She specializes
in clean energy technologies, thermal energy systems, and sustainable
infrastructure, with a proven track record in designing and implementing
national energy policies and laws such as the National Energy Efficiency
Action Plan (NEEAP) and the National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP).
As a
senior consultant and executive board member at the Lebanese Center for
Energy Conservation (LCEC), Dr. Mortada has led high-impact projects on solar
energy, energy efficiency and sustainable cooling, collaborating with
international donors, governments, and private sector stakeholders. Her
expertise extends to market analysis, impact assessment, and the integration
of innovative energy solutions into policy frameworks.
Holding a
Ph.D. in Energy from Mines ParisTech, she has an extensive research
background in heat transfer, dynamic thermal modeling, and energy-efficient
building systems. She has worked on cutting-edge engineering solutions,
including heat pump performance optimization, concentrated solar power, and
waste heat recovery. In addition to her consultancy and policy work, Dr.
Mortada is an Associate Professor at the Lebanese University, mentoring
future engineers and researchers in mechanical and energy systems. She is a
recognized leader in climate resilience, low-carbon technologies, and the
transition to a sustainable energy future.
